The problem
One of the most important steps before any soundcheck or concert it's “touching” the wedges and PA - raising them to a volume that produces audible feedback, identifying the feedback frequencies and cutting those frequencies using a graphic equalizer. Doing this by ear is slow, painful, imprecise, and therefore not entirely effective. Also, to avoid feedback, monitors are often being tamed; as a result, performers cannot hear themselves loud enough.
The
X-FDBK solution dramatically improves the ringing out process and shortens it to a matter of seconds. It identifies feedback frequencies quickly and accurately and cuts them with a narrow notch, preserving the fidelity of the wedge or PA and allowing you to maximize gain without getting feedback.
All you have to do is raise the levels of their wedges and PA until they start getting feedback. Then activate the plugin and wait a few seconds until you hear the feedback disappear.
The graphical frequency spectrum of the plugin shows all feedback frequencies and the degree to which they have been cut, allowing you to adjust them manually if you wish.
