CLA Mix Hub
The first plug-in of its kind, the CLA MixHub captures the console workflow and rich analog sound of the legendary Chris Lord-Alge mixer. Mix up to 64 tracks - all in the same plug-in window - using channel tracks modeled in CLA's personal console. Mix it up musically, within the context of a song, just as quickly and easily as your ideas pop up.
Plug-ins typically only work on one channel at a time . CLA MixHub is the first plug-in to work in buckets - groupings of up to 8 channels, up to 8 buckets total. In other words, you can mix up to 64 channels in one CLA MixHub plugin window. By mixing tracks side-by-side in MixHub buckets, you get a mixing perspective that lets you immediately hear how one track's processing affects others within a song.
The Sound
The channel's tracks are meticulously modeled from the ground up with the latest technology, straight from the personal console of Grammy-winning mixing legend Chris Lord-Alge - the console Chris used to mix a huge number of hits such as Green Day, Muse and Sugarland for Keith Urban and more.
The Workflow
After That CLA MixHub is inserted into your mix channels, you can assign your tracks to buckets and start making adjustments quickly: mixing dynamics, EQ, saturation and more at a free pace, no need to switch plug windows. ins. your DAW.
While mixing, you can switch between two plug-in views: Bucket View, with control of up to 8 channels at a time, or Channel View, focusing on the processing chain of a single channel.
Each channel consists of 5 sections: input, dynamics, EQ, output and an insertion point. Each processing module can be expanded to reveal additional functionality.
Input section
The input section handles high and low pass filtering and selectable harmonic distortion. The "line" control models the line amp on Chris' console, adding light saturation. For more extreme driving, turn on the microphone first. In effect, it's like running a line-level signal through the console's mic preamp.
Dynamics
The dynamic section includes two types of compression: the console's internal compressor and Chris' favorite "Bluey" compressor. Also includes: a gate, expander and ducker with hold control and flexible side chain options for shaping the envelope of a sound - as Chris calls it, it's a 'super gate'.
EQ
The EQ section includes 4 bands of parametric EQ, from wide bells to narrow boosts and cuts, loaded with the console's original ballistics and Q characteristics.
Output
The output section includes a plasma-style VU meter and PPM meter, plus a stereo image control and an output fader.
Insert
In the CLA MixHub channel view, the insertion point can be used to add an additional Waves plugin to your MixHub chain, making it a complete solution for your entire mix.
