Low Pass Filter
A plug-in recreation of Dr. Moog's famous 24dB per octave low-pass ladder filter, updated with exciting new features for the modern music maker. p>
Ever wanted to use one of the most famous synth filters in the world in your DAW?
The filter Our carefully recreated Mini V software instrument's classic is now in a dedicated plug-in. Now you can add the familiar filter tone to warm or smooth the audio or to add sweetness to a sensitive recording.
In addition, the Filter MINI also includes a powerful modulation section consisting of an envelope follower, an LFO and a step sequencer. A patch manager is also built in, along with a set of presets to inspire your creativity.
An essential, expressive and creative tool for any producer or artist.
Straight from the legendary 70s monosynthetic
The MINI filter is the latest chapter in the history of Arturia's true analog emulation technology.
In 2003, we collaborated with Bob Moog to recreate the illustrious synthesizers he designed as software instruments, allowing a whole new generation of musicians, producers and enthusiasts a chance to experience its unique method of synthesis. Fast forward 15 years and unfortunately the godfather of synthesis is no longer with us; but its legacy remains forever.
Through our collaborative effort and experience, we were able to not only perfectly recreate its iconic monosynthetic 1970s, but also to isolate individual components. The 24dB per octave ladder filter has always been at the center of the Model D monosynthesis myths, and we were intrigued by how this would sound on other audio sources. So we apply the utmost care and use the latest technological advances to reproduce its warm and highly musical tone.
"But what does a filter really do?"
For many music producers and electronic musicians, filters are an essential part of their creative and sound process. Simply put, filters cut or boost certain sound frequencies, letting you control the tonal 'shape' of the audio.
For example, if you have a vocal recording of which if you want to remove some low, cheeky noises, you can use a high-pass filter.
A low-pass filter could be used in the same way, but to remove unwanted high frequencies; perhaps to tame particularly spicy cymbals or hi-hats in a drum recording.
Notch filters can identify certain frequencies and boost or cut them; a great use for this is finding and removing unwanted and unwanted resonances from acoustic instrument recordings.
Originally designed to remove broadcast noise and make the most of radio bandwidth, today filters are an essential creative tool for music professionals.
A legendary filter, plug-in FX
Whether you're a singer, guitarist, DJ, producer, Filter MINI will spice up your music .
Emphasize the warmth of your voice, shape the tone of your electric guitars, add string filters to your drums, transform your entire mix. While we're sure you'll love using a perfectly crafted analog ladder filter on any sound source, we've also added some contemporary features to give Filter MINI the edge when it comes to creative audio processing.
From sampling and waiting to sequencer, Filter MINI is a sound designer's true dream for mixing, creating sounds and experimenting. Let's take a look at the main components of this amazing plugin:
Low Frequency Oscillator
In addition to animating the Cutoff frequency and emphasis by applying a periodic variation that can take on different waveforms and either synchronized or not with your DAW's clock, the Filter MINI LFO also offers a sample and hold mode. This takes a random value and freezes it for a certain amount of time, according to the Rate setting, to generate a rhythmic effect.
Pass-filter bass
It provides access to the most central parameters of the filter, such as the cutoff frequency above which the high frequencies will be cut progressively, the emphasis known as resonance that raises the frequencies around the frequency. of cutting. In addition, the Drive parameter will increase the filter gain to add distortion to the signal.
Step Sequencer
This highly creative modulator lets you precisely set a value of up to 8 steps that can control the cutoff frequency, emphasis and LFO rate. You can use it in sync with your DAW and smooth the transition from step to step to radically broaden your creative horizon.
Envelope follower< /b>
Allows you to modify the cutoff frequency, emphasis and LFO rate based on the envelope of the sound source. Sensitivity controls vertical tracking, while attack and decay can be used to smooth the tracking along the time axis. The MINI Envelope Follower filter can therefore be used to affect the sound at an audio rate or conversely more subtly to accompany wider volume variations.
