Virtual Synthesizer Instrument
The massively powerful Oberheim® Matrix-12 is finally resurrected. Using our TAE™ modeling technology, we are able to retrieve this beast from a synthesizer and bring it to you.
The Matrix 12 was the first programmable analog synthesizer that utilized the best features of a voice path preset and modular flexibility. This bold combination made her a force of nature and something that had not been seen before. It also had a 15-mode filter system that allowed it to have never-before-heard sounds.
Template Making
Every point in the way The signal is important when shaping the sound of such a revered instrument.
So to establish the proper foundation, we've perfectly recreated the tonal characteristics of the 2 original oscillators and their waveforms in Matrix-12 V. And it was equally critical to capture every nuance of its 15 filter modes, so we continued until they were modeled perfectly!
Another factor in defining the complex sound of the Matrix-12 was the incredible number of modulation sources and targets it provided. This was a level of sophistication previously only available in a fully modular system.
So, to complete the emulation, we modeled these features as well, surpassing them. With an almost infinite number of modulation routes possible on the Matrix-12 V, you can create sounds with highly organic qualities not found on other synthesizers.
50 tones of sound
A real synth chamelion. With its 15 filter modes, you can create everything you need, from thin and airy to bold and bold.
The power of perfection
While the Matrix-12 was amazing on its own, we went even further, adding a new chain of effects for additional sound processing.
We've also expanded the maximum number of modulation routes from 20 to 40, offering even more creative freedom. Add to that the ability to control all parameters via MIDI, and now you can do automations in a DAW or manually, which could never be done before.
