Chris Hein Winds Compact is the light version of the library Four-part exclusive Winds Complete. It offers the same number of instruments: four transverse flutes, three clarinets, three oboes and three bassoons.
For the compact edition, we've gathered the most important and common articulations and functions from the full version. At the same time, this library of woodwind instruments undoubtedly meets the highest standards of supreme sound quality, expression and applicability. The instruments in the library use meticulously carefully prepared multisamples with detailed phase alignment for phase-corrected mixes and dynamic layer crossfades. Up to eight dynamic layers ensure realistic sounding results.

Orchestral wind sounds tailored to perfection
Both the equ High-quality ipments, such as selected Neumann microphones, as well as the musician's significant performances, boost the aesthetics of sound. Unlike award-winning Chris Hein - Horns, this library leverages the renowned WDR Symphony Orchestra.
For this library, the dry closure was an intentional decision. All instruments were recorded individually, avoiding any interference. Despite this, CH Winds Compact incorporated the inevitable interplay of an orchestra. Therefore, the participating musicians used headphone monitoring to complement each other.
Due to the sample engine's double convolution reverbs and the intentionally dry sound from Chris Hein Winds Compact, you can easily adapt the instruments to various situations. Kontakt Player allows free placement of instruments in the stereo panorama. Furthermore, separate convolution mechanisms for the sound-body (body) and the environment (room) allow you to create any spatial environment, ranging from intimate intimacy to large orchestral rooms. This makes the CH Winds Compact significantly different from many competitors and its fixed spatial characteristics. It makes this library very variable and, moreover, combinable with almost any other library available.
Unique Functions
Perfect dynamic transitions thanks to phase alignment
During a six-month research period, all samples were fully phase aligned. Consequently, the instruments offer seamless, seamless transitions from dynamic layers without sonic degradation.
Unique combination of short and long notes
Mixing long and short notes is a big problem in sample libraries that often fail to provide authentic sounding results. With real musical instruments, note size often influences attack behavior and note ending. The CH Winds Compact takes care of these aspects through its „Note Head Designer“. For each sustain, it is possible to call short and fitted variations of the sample, called shorts, through the controllers.
These shorts do not just offer the corresponding correct attack behavior , but also a note ending that perfectly matches the size of the note. These user-defined selections of short note variations are available in up to eight dynamic layers each and can be combined with the corresponding sustained phases, leading to surprising and realistic results that cannot be achieved using random selections based on rotation. Of course, these shorts are also available as individual joints.
True Legato
Chris Hein Winds' instruments Compact offer true legato. Corresponding detailed recording and editing results in unexpectedly realistic sounds with perfect note transitions. At the same time, you can expand these realistic joints with additional artificial legatos inserted.
