With nearly 7,000 samples, 14 articulations, up to 8 dynamic layers and a full range of 4 octaves, the CH-Harmonica is definitely the most sampled chromatic harmonic on the planet. The UI contains several features on multiple pages to shape the sound the way you want it. However, if you don't want to edit, just tap and explore the 26 pre-programmed keykey presets ranging from A-1 to A #1 on the lower MIDI keyboard keys.
To get the feel of a live performance, the user interface offers four "dynamic modes", "Key-Vibrato", "Hot-Keys" and a revolutionary new concept of articulation presets.
One of the most unique features of CH-Harmonica is the phase-aligned samples. After six months of research, Chris Hein found a solution to synchronize phase samples. This allows for an absolutely perfect blend between six dynamic layers.
During the development of CH-Harmonica, more attention was paid to working with dynamic expression.
Berthold Matschat
We are very happy when Berthold Matschat gave us permission to try out his rare harmonica. There are very few chromatic harmonica players in the world, and he is the leader in Germany. Berthold Matschat is also a talented jazz pianist and composer. As he works extensively with sample instruments in his own studio, he had a detailed concept of what needed to be played and sampled from the harmonica.
His tone is particularly moving and emotional. We recorded an ancient and rare Hohner Harmonica, which dates back to those times, when Hohner could impress with the words "Made in Germany".
