character

Character is a plug-in that lets you add the alluring distortion characteristics of classic analog circuits to your source tracks. To create the character, we asked the best tracking, mixing, and mastering engineers to send us their favorite analog hardware; the pres, DIs and EQs of the mic they used to record, mix and master. We then use SpectraFoo to measure the ways in which these processors add a lovely, sticky analog distortion to the sound passing through them, and we modeled that distortion using our proprietary + DSP technology.
Character offers over 20 different models, incorporating the sound of tubes, transformers, and solid-state devices. The character has a Drive (and autodrive) control to allow you to force distortion even stronger for exaggerated sound muting.
