AL SCHMITT is an innovative audio processor for mixing and mastering that incorporates the unique techniques and equipment used by the multi-engineer winner, Al Schmitt.

Al has been in the recording business since 1949 - and before that, as a kid, he actually spent the weekends at his uncle's house
recording studio watching history being made by artists like Bing Crosby and the Andrew sisters!

His recording techniques were forged in the early days of
recording, before the invention of multitrack tape recorders, mixing on large scaleconsoles and even EQ!

He recorded and mixed Frank Sinatra and
Natalie Cole for Jefferson Airplane, Hot Tuna, Boz Scaggs, Jackson Browne , Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan and Toto.

We worked with Al to analyze the tools and the
workflows he uses to bring the you It's this set of unique processors perfect for recording

Authentication

When opening the plugin pe The first time, you will be asked to enter your email
address and serial number to authenticate the plugin. The email address must
be the same one you used to create your Leapwing online user account. the
serial number was emailed to you after purchase and can also be
found on your Leapwing account page.

On the Leapwing account page, you can manage the ID of the hardware (computer)
connected to your license key. If you want to move the license to another
computer you own, you can do so by deleting the current hardware ID and
activating the license on the other computer.
Please note that only online authentication is currently available and requires your
computer to be online at least once every 30 days. Leapwing Al Schmitt will
try to reauthorize in the background (whenever using the plugin) and if
30 days have passed since the last authentication, you will get a pop-up message
asking you if connect to the Leapwing website. If you are using an offline computer
and purchased the license, we have a trial feature to take you offline
authentication. Please contact our support team for help with this.
Forms
Leapwing Al Schmitt includes profiles for six types of audio sources, Bass, Brass, Mixing,
Piano, Strings and Vocal. The profiles are based on Al's chosen equipment and
processing techniques and are optimized for the instrument profiles listed, but as
with any audio processing, you may find that other types of instruments respond well to one of these profiles. Although various profiles include three types of echo (A, B and C)
the actual reverb characteristics are adjusted differently for each profile and are
based on the use of real echo chambers (which many professional studios still have use) and
external gear.
Note that Leapwing Al Schmitt is intended to be used as an insertion effect on an individual
track and not on an FX bus. The Mix Profile is an exception as it is
intended to support multiple instruments, but it should still be used as an insert and
not bused for the master track in parallel with the source signals.
