The Transgressor sets a new standard for transient design by combining transient modeling with two 4-band EQs, giving you unprecedented power of EQ attack and sustain individually. Now you can create your drum sound any way you want, whether it's a subtle tweaking or changing the sound of an entire kit and more.
Not just another temporary designer
A real unique, the Transgressor goes beyond the limits of standard transient designers. It gives you the ability to create the sound of drums and other instruments not only in terms of attack and sustain, but also timbrally. The Transgressor combines a transient designer with two equalizers. No big deal, you say? Any EQ plugins work? Au contraire mon frère. The transgressor not only allows you to equalize the attack and sustain portions of the instrument's envelope individually (yes, you read that right; the attack can be equalized differently from sustain), but it also lets you dial the low, mid, and specific highs independently in each. What if you need a brighter attack but want to keep the dark resonance of the tones or kick drum? Maybe you need more midrange attack, but want to lighten the resonance of a hi-hat? Maybe you're happy with the overall sound of the snare drum, but the attack is a little too clear. The answer is the transgressor (you must have realized this). Only the Transgressor offers the ability to control transients and sustain without compromising one another.
Just the facts:
Hybrid transient designer with two EQ equalizers 3 bands with selectable slopes
Gain controls allow you to increase or eliminate transients and sustain independently
Mix knob allows you to adjust wet/dry signal
Adjustable transient detector allows you to control the sensitivity, eliminate false bleed triggers
Internal or external detector sidechain control
Sidechain EQ allows you to dial the frequencies that trigger the detector
Three sidechain modes with "listen" feature to monitor the signal sidechain
The retrigger controls the time between triggered events
Bank A / B comparison
Factory presets to get you started
Transient EQ and Sustain Individually
The plug-ins of EQ only make global changes to an instrument. then; whatever you do for the transient is also done to sustain and decay. Even dynamic EQs change the entire envelope, even if only momentarily. The offender offers 2 EQs. One for your attack and one for your sustain, allowing you to shape exactly the way you want the attack to sound. There are three bands for each EQ section (bass, mid, treble) with variable frequency selection and gain for each band. Each band also offers three selectable filter types which are particularly suited to each band. For example, the low band has high-pass, low-shelf, and bell, while the mid-band has bell, band-pass, and slope, which boosts the treble while cutting the bass and vice versa.
EQ Applications
Do you want to add bites to your trap without increasing the trap hum? The offender is your mandatory plug-in. Do you need to reduce the ring on the box without changing the pitch? Do not worry. The offender does this easily. The offender is also a great tool for milling a trap. The high frequency attack coming from a loudspeaker will not excite the head of the box enough. You need midrange information to make this happen, which requires a transient design and dramatic EQ. The offender's ability to increase gain in the low and mid-range of the attack, while eliminating sustain allows you to do this in a simple process. Better yet, it offers the ability to easily create the sound of the amplified snare with dynamic adjustments.
If you've ever fallen asleep on the couch in the control room while the producer and drummer scoured every trap in the known universe to find to be sure, only to be replaced in the mix by CPU power software, the Transgressor can save time and CPU resources. Didn't like the trap the customer sent you? Forget time-consuming box sample shootouts. The Transgressor's powerful equalizer and transient and resonance training features can transform the sound of any drum kit to suit the music and your taste.
Not just for drums, the Transgressor can also bring the snap and the pop of a funky bass without turning it into a baritone guitar. Plus, you can be really smart and create unique sounding instruments and drums that will have other producers calling you to find out how you got that sound.
Sidechain Sleight of Hand
In addition to giving you full control over the sound of your transients, Transgressor adds another layer of creativity, letting you use the detector with an external sidechain. This lets you adjust the EQ and sustain of any instrument triggered by another. For example, some engineers use room microphones for room only. However, if you mix like Chris Lord-Alge and derive your drum body sound from the room's microphones, you might find that you need to increase your attack on snare drums. Put the Transgressor on the microphones in your room and direct the box towards the sidechain. So transients will only trigger when the snare drum is hit, but will affect the sound of the room's microphones. This is highly effective for getting great drum sounds without hurting the reverb.
Whether it's a strong, strong drum or a big sustained drum, the Transgressor lets you play them just the way. that you
